Thomas W. Gill, DVM - Practice Owner
Dr. Thomas Gill is a graduate of Hamilton College and the Cornell University College
of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from veterinary college in 1984, Dr. Gill
worked in mixed animal practices in Lebanon, PA, and Syracuse, NY before moving to
Cayuga County in 1988. Brookside Veterinary Clinic originated out of Dr. Gill's home
and eventually moved to its present facilities in Auburn in 1996.
Dr. Gill has a particular interest in farm animal medicine and small animal surgery.
Currently he divides his professional time by servicing Cayuga County's dairy and equine patients
and performing some small animal surgical procedures at the clinic.
Family plays an important part in Dr. Gill's life. He is one of eight children and he and
his wife, Cecelia, have seven children; obviously the Gill household is active and just
a little bit noisy! Other members of the Gill family have at times included dairy heifers, and
currently include 12 chickens, two horses, "Maxine" and "Katie", their Shih Tzu, "Janie", and
a slightly clueless cat named "Tony".
Dr. Gill loves to spend time reading, traveling, dreaming about traveling, and spending time
with his family.

Rebecca S. Reynolds, DVM
Dr. Rebecca Reynolds – a.k.a. “Dr. Becky” is one of our large animal
veterinarians here at Brookside. Becky has wanted to be a veterinarian for as
long as she can remember, and now that she is one, she is enjoying every
minute of it!
Dr. Becky grew up in Brooklyn, CT and received her B.S. from the University
of Findlay in Findlay, OH. She completed her education at The Ohio State University,
and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in June 2004. While her initial
interest was in small animal medicine and surgery, Dr. Becky has become captivated by
large animal medicine. She truly loves working with cows and horses, as well as the
occasional sheep, goat, or llama, and can’t imagine doing anything else.
Dr. Becky lives in Auburn with her husband, Cody, two cats – Blackie and Henry, and dog – Joe, a
Chesapeake Bay Retriever. When Becky isn’t working she enjoys hunting, fishing, skiing, and most
outdoor activities available in the Finger Lakes.

Tyson Benson, DVM
In the year two thousand and nine, Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine conferred a degree upon a
student with arguably more promise and potential than any in history. This student was destined for greatness
and would surely shake the world of veterinary medicine to its very core. When such a veterinarian began looking
for work, Brookside Vet Clinic decided to hire Dr. Tyson Benson instead.
Measuring in at an impressive 5'11", Dr. Benson put his arms to work initially on the sizable dairies of Eastern
New Mexico and West Texas. But in little time he began to miss the snow up to his knees and the savory taste of
Cornell-sauce Barbeque Chicken. Leaving the windy high plains of the southwest, Dr. Benson and his wife Victoria
made the long trek back to their home state of New York, their two daughters Alejandra and Rafaela in tow. Dr. Benson
staged his infiltration of Brookside Veterinary Clinic from his family's dairy farm in Lansing, NY. His Parents' organic
cows mooed him good luck as he relocated his family to Auburn, bringing with him his border collie Mindy to consult on the
dogs and cats that Dr. Benson would be treating when not on the road seeing cows and horses. And so Auburn would never be the
same, with Dr. Benson excelling at not only veterinary medicine, but also music, board games, and movie watching.
